At least 13 people are feared dead and scores injured after suspected members of Boko Haram attacked five communities of Ladin Buta near Khaddamari village of Jere LGA of Borno state. According to fleeing residents, the militants armed with Ak47 and petrol bombs including Improvised Explosives Devices (IEDs) invaded the communities around 7pm on Tuesday, May 24 and set ablaze many houses after killing 13 people and injuring dozens of others.
A policeman attached to Jere Division, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the deadly attack and destruction of houses in the area. The policeman said they were helpless as there were no reinforcement from the military to repel the midnight attack. He also disclosed that the Divisional Police Officer ordered his men to visit the areas on Wednesday morning.
It was reported that 13 dead bodies were recovered by the police, with scores injured with bullet wounds and burns. More photos Below ....
